Introduction

Hi all, I am Kerrily Jelfs, this is my 28th year of teaching in Catholic schools. I started out at St John's, Dubbo in 1986, then  taught at St Nicholas of Myra, Penrith for two years before heading to Europe to backpack and Nanny for a year. I have been at St Francis Xavier, Ballina since 1993. I am currently Acting Assistant Principal and Year 6 teacher for 2 days a week. I have also been Leader of Catechesis for the last three years.

What I want to get from my visit at Star of The Sea is knowledge on:

- collaboration and planning in both class and leadership level
- the use of ICT to support teaching and learning
- their ideas around pedagogy
- teaching practices - team teaching?
- timetabling - how their days learning is structured?
- literacy and numeracy block structuring
- learning support and IEP students
